A stylish café located in the heart of Nolita, Bread offers a delicious variety of Italian paninis and dishes guaranteed to satisfy the hunger and cravings of every diner. A small and cozy space that is not overcrowded with tables provides for an atmosphere that is perfect for both romantic dates as well as friendly gatherings. There is even a room in the back for somewhat larger groups and a trendy bar area where one can enjoy a glass of fine wine or a festive cocktail as a pre- or post-dinner treat.
Bruschetta—With a concasse of tomatoes, basil and zucchini
Special Salad—With mesclun greens, cherry tomatoes, olives, fennel, Sicilian tuna and avocado in house dressing
Bread Tomato Soup
Strozzapreti—With pesto asparagus and parmigiano
Prosciutto di Parma—With mozzarella and cherry tomatoes on ciabatta
Imported Italian Tuna—With mesclun greens and tomato in lemon dressing on ciabatta
Ordered the Special Salad...only thing special about it was that it kept me in the bathroom for the next 18 hours. Think the tuna was BAD! Not sure if I will order from Bread anytime soon.

I am infuriated by this restaurant. After ordering my food, they called me 30 minutes later to tell me they basically didn't have anything I ordered and asked if I would prefer to order something else. I opted to cancel the order - they were extremely unapologetic….however….they still charged me for the order! $45! I've called and left two messages with the hostess who said the manager would call me back to resolve the situation and I've received no call backs to date. They are basically thieves.

Do not order from here, especially if you're hungry. I did notice the other reviews warning of the horrible service, but thought they might have been having an off-night and some were fairly old. I should have listened. Called an hour and 15 minutes after placing order and was told it was on its way. Called 30 minutes later and was told it had been canceled...

Used to be so good, but lately the food is pretty bad, won't be re-ordering. Famous tomato soup arrived cold and the wasn't as creamy as in the past. Bread (for a restaurant called 'Bread') was stale! After all this, they forgot an item from my order but to their credit, they quickly redelivered.

I love the Melanzane Parmigiana and the tomato soup! We've ordered from here a few times and it always shows up still warm and on time.

Very bland and over priced. Used to eat here. Got 5 dishes for delivery all mediocre at best

Consistently on time delivery, linguine pesto is to die for and they always have an excellent kale salad. Menu changes with their seasonal restaurant menu so you can be pleasantly surprised to see new dishes from time to time. A+!

Really disappointing. Flavorless meatballs, we used to order the chicken salad all the time but they're changed the recipe for the worse, and really bad bruschetta. Don't know what happened to this restaurant - they used to be pretty good.

Food arrived 53 minutes late, and I am missing two soups in my order. Regardless of whether Bread offered to deduct 50% off my bill, it would ideal to receive my entire order.

I regularly get delivery from here and their Chelsea to-go location and it's always timely and delicious.

Used to be great but for the past months the food has been consistently deceiving, arrived cold and dry. Definitely bad now.
Posted 2 years ago by livia t.
Awful experience, horrible service, still waiting after 1 hour and 45, the manager tried to blame seamless, so I called seamless the order was confirmed exactly 2 min after I placed it, the restaurant staff forgot to place it and not only they lied about it but they felt untitled to ask me why I was so aggravated.

I order the same two things and I usually love the food here but when ordering delivery they are very inconsistent. For instance today I received no marinara sauce for the calamari and will have to wait another 45 minutes for them to bring it. Last week the eggplant parm was burnt. When they get it right it's amazing but the inconsistencies are getting to be too much.

We have been enjoying delivery from Bread a few times a week at the office. Today it took almost 2 hours to receive a soup and salad. Three stars to leave room for improvement.

Put the eggplant parm back on the menu please!!!!!

The delevery is really bad, I have been waiting for an hour and half for two sandwiches and a soda. Still waiting.

horrible food quality. don't do it.

Fast delivery but the gnocchi was very overcooked and soggy.

Long wait, ingredients left off of food always(no Brie on a Brie sandwich?), drinks always half full, person who answers phone Is clueless in terms of customer service. Such a shame, I've been going here and ordering for years and I'm finally fed up and will never walk in, pick up the phone or order thru seamless again. I have never written a review before but Bread really made me angry for the last time.

After an hour and a half of waiting for a delivery (until 10:30pm) the restaurant informed me that the order was lost. This, only after I called the restaurant 2x for updates (the order was quoted to deliver in 45 minutes). Zero apology. Do not patronize this establishment. Great food, disappointing service.

This place is amazing. I ordered lunch to be delivered as a gift to another recipient. Not only was the delivery man so kind and patient when I gave him the wrong address but they took the time to compose a written note to be included in the delivery for me. The food arrived and was thoroughly enjoyed. I highly recommend Bread!

Bread is unbelievable. Delivery is a little slower than other places but the food is amazing. The eggplant parm is incredible as well as their famous tomato soup. I don't even like tomato soup and I always get theirs.
Posted 3 years ago by Emily M.
Awesome for dinner, don't get eggs from them. They left out my side salad and the eggs were sitting in some sort of liquid (mind you, this is an omelette they only let you have 2 ingredients in...) and the bread on top was completely soggy.
I've had their dinner and it's amazing! Just... Don't do breakfast.

Love the Lasagna! Can't wait for them to start serving the rest of TriBeCa breads menu items . When Bread was in TriBeCa they had a menu to die for! They even had an extensive gluten free section. Catered to us all . Can't wait to have ya back

I ordered the seared chicken breast. Amazing! Chicken was cooked thoroughly and a light chicken broth sauce which is the healthy option I wanted. The spinach was perfect and the potatoes were delicious. I would definitely order this again as well as recommend it.

Ordered brunch from here. Everything was good, but nothing special, so I think its overpriced for what you are getting.

The food at Bread is good but they have TWICE now messed up my order. Sorry, Bread. Two strikes and you're out.
Posted 3 years ago by Aimee F.
Not good. Had the mezzomaucchi, I was very hungry and still couldn't eat the hard, tasteless pasta, also missing more than a sliver of cheese. Very disappointing.
Posted 3 years ago by Cindibeth G.
Spent over $100 on lunch. Overpriced and disappointing. Chicken with Spinach entree was completely unseasoned, only the potatoes had flavor. Literally nothing on the chicken or spinach. So bland and gross. Quinoa salad was tiny. Paid full price for a chicken avocado sandwich and got a half sandwich wrapped in tin foil (?!).

Food is delicious, the problem is when I recently placed an order that was never processed. After waiting two hours for breakfast I called the restaurant and was told that I never submitted the final order. When I read the emailed confirmation number to him I was told "oh, it was never processed here, I apologize." I was asked if I wanted it processed now or not and I said no. Sure enough, the credit card was charged anyway.
Called back 2 days later once the pending charge did go through to ask for a refund. Was told that it would take 2 days and gave my name and number because a manager would call me. 3 days later and no refund or phone call. Called the restaurant again to ask for a manger and was told none were available. When I asked when one might be was told "Oh, I'm not sure, none are here." When I asked when will come in I was told "sometimes they come in the evening." When I asked if there was a specific time I was told, "No, sometimes they come in around 5:00 or 6:00." I finally had to ask for the name of a person to talk to. What kind of business allows someone with answers like that to pick up the phone?!

EXTREMELY UNHAPPY WITH ORDER. FOOD TOOKE 1 HOUR AND 50 MINUTES TO ARRIVE. WILL NEVER ORDER AGAIN.
Posted 3 years ago by Arthur P.
Food was good but cold. For the price and the delivery time it should be hot!
Posted 3 years ago by Laura G M.
didn't love the lasagna. much better to eat at the restaurant than order.
Posted 3 years ago by Danielle O.
The soup container was only filled 3/4 of the way, as was the orange juice. The food was delivered later than the delivery time window and its was COLD!!! The english muffin wasn't toasted, nor was theres any hollandaise sauce on my eggs Benedict!! For the high price that they charge, this type of service is OUTRAGEOUS!!!
Posted 3 years ago by deena s.
the food is extra salty and they screwed up orders and was over 2 hrs late with the delivery. it's bad enough having to wait but having to keep calling to find out the status is annoying not worth the price of the food. I would never order from them ever again.

2 words... tomato soup

I"m going to preface this and say that Bread is my favorite Italian restaurant in Soho. That being said, the delivery is absolutely inedible and horribly awful. Today, when I I ordered chicken milanese, avocado salad, and eggplant parmesan. The salad came warm, and the eggplant came cool. Neither were extraordinarily appetizing but I ate this regardless. The chicken is why I feel so strongly about writing a review. My chicken milanese came (I kid you not) BLACK, COLD, and completely INEDIBLE. I couldn't even run my fork and knife through it to cut it, much less chew it. Literally cardboard. Burnt, cold, and looked like it had been in that plastic box for a few days. Horrible. You have lost me, Bread. The absolutely worst delivery I have ever received in my life.

Very good food, but the delivery is EXTREMELY slow - it usually takes more than an hour to arrive. Our office has place a number of $200 or more orders, but today's 90 minute (and still counting) wait will be the last. (And, yes, I called and they said "oh, it's on the way".)
Posted 4 years ago by Mike T.
fast delivery. both lunch deliveries. first time was great, second time not so great. 2nd experience ordering, they put bolognese on a supposed vege option, and the tagliatelle had two tiny specks of lamb in the ragu! the rest was just the tomato sauce. bummer.
Posted 4 years ago by eric g.
super fast delivery. ordered the mozzarella sandwich (which came with a small side salad) and the strawberry cheesecake. both were delicious! worth the money, definitely recommend!

Delicious and heathy options. The salmon is my new fav order on seamless
Posted 4 years ago by Abby B.
Lentil soup was pretty darn salty. But, the bread was awesome—which is fitting! I asked for the lemon dressing that went on my sandwich to be on the side, but instead they gave me a side salad that I didn’t order and put the dressing to that on the side. The salad I didn’t order was old and slimy. Probably not ordering from here again.

so, so, so good. amazing pastas and the meatballs are crave-worthy. in our top 3 favorite delivery places for sure.
Posted 4 years ago by claire d.
The food is very good but the prices are a little high for the portions.
Posted 4 years ago by Vivian W.
Portion size extremely unreasonable for the price. I ordered a salad and paid extra for the mozzarella balls and got 2. Never ordering from here again.
Posted 4 years ago by Eric J.
This was the first and last time, ordering from Bread. After waiting 50 minutes for delivery, the lasagna was cold, and the chicken sandwich was slimy on the inside with bread that was so hard I thought I was going to crack my teeth trying to bite it. Really unpleasant, and not cheap, either.

The olives rock.

I think the lasagna is the best I've ever had. Tagliatelle is excellent, skirt steak is great. Wasn't wild about the salmon. Quick delivery usually.

The Avocado salad leaves a lot to be desired, and worth far less than $14. Stick with the sandwiches, they're inexpensive and delicious!

Love this place for brunch, dinner and now even take out. Amazing lunch specials with soup and sandwiches. Also my personal favorite lasagna in LES and also great staff!
Posted 5 years ago by Davaish S.
Brought the wrong order first of all. Food was mediocre to poor and no one answered the phone to fix it.
Posted 5 years ago by Shannon S.
Always a great meal! the salads are so filling and delicious. Avocado Salad is a fave as well as the Special Salad. You really cant go wrong with any of the sandwiches either. Top pick for me is the Aged Salame Sandwich that we endearingly call the stinky foot sandwich. The BREAD Tomato Soup is fantastic addition to any meal

I love, love, love the food from this place. Sadly though, it gets 3 stars because: 1) The prices are outrageous, even for SoH; 2) Every time I order, it takes over an hour to arrive (4 blocks away), whether it's a busy time or not.

Very consistent food. Large menu with many options. Soups and sandwiches are always great. and the chocolate mousse dessert is excellent

Quick service and yummy soup that was still hot when it arrived.
Posted 5 years ago by Analia S.
This is one of our favorite new places on seamless. The order arrived prompt and still hot. The soup bowl was awesome. French fries were disappointing because they were soggy but the meatballs and homebaked bread made up for it
Posted 5 years ago by john sawyer p.
The food was good, but the portions are small. The octopus was excellent.
Posted 5 years ago by Natalia L.
Place is overpriced for the quality of food they serve. I don't think I will order from this pace again. Their food was just blah... and their prices do not correspond to the food they serve.

unbelievable. i live literally three blocks from Bread and it took them over an hour to deliver a miserable 12 dollar sandwich (that got here cold obviously) and 7 dollar fruit salad. not getting food from them any more

First and last time i order from here. The delivery took so long and I live very close. Waste of money.

So, I ordered the fried calamari and a chocolate mouse. I love calamari; so I like to try out the calamari in new restaurants to get a feel. I got a good feeling from Bread :).
The calamari were golden, crispy, and were absolutely delicious. The chocolate mousse I ordered was very, very good as well.
I went to pick up the order rather than have it delivered, which turned out fine. The only complaint I would have is that the wait was longer than 20 minutes for a pick up. But the employees made up for that. They offered me a glass of water while I waited as well as a chair rather than me standing in the middle of an aisle looking around aimlessly as I waited.
The ambience, from what I saw, looked very pleasing and intimate. I would definitely order again from them, and possible go and dine in the restaurant!

I ordered food at 12:59. They probably didn't check the order for a while because I got the confirmation e-mail at 1:16. Now it's 2:29 and food is still not here. WTF!

food took over an hr to arrive - my wife told me she had the same experience previously. solid, but not spectacular...good place to go and eat, they don't seem to care much about timely delivery though.
